UK’s National Ms York
I am Louise Prashad, a woman driven by resilience, compassion, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the world. My journey has been shaped by overcoming extraordinary challenges, including a life-threatening condition during pregnancy that led to the heartbreaking loss of my twins at full term and a critical liver transplant. Despite these hardships, I survived and I have done my all to channel my grief into a mission of hope and empowerment.
Inspired by the memory of my children and my wonderful organ donor, Sarah, I have dedicated my life to raising awareness and funds for charities like Tommy’s, the British Liver Trust, and NHS Organ Donation. Through participating in over 320 running races, including marathons and ultra-marathons, I have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds and brought attention to vital causes. My efforts extend to supporting bereaved families and advocating for pregnancy safety. Last year at the London Marthon I ran with the names of 500 bereaved parents on ribbons and was featured on the main broadcast. I aimed to make sure our baby’s names are never forgotten.
Athletics has played a crucial role in my journey. Joining the Leeds Adult Transplant Sport Team, I won multiple medals in the British Transplant Games, proving that determination and resilience can overcome any obstacle. My story has inspired transplant recipients worldwide, and I continue to promote health and fitness as a means of recovery and empowerment.
Beyond my athletic achievements, I am passionate about giving back to the community. I run a memorial company that donates a portion of its sales to NHS organ donation and frequently give talks at hospitals, schools, and community centers. My goal is to encourage families to discuss organ donation and to make a tangible difference in the lives of others.
Entering the UK Ms National Pageant, I aim to empower women like my daughter, forge lifelong friendships, and use my title to raise the profiles of worthy causes. I believe that scars are symbols of survival and strength, and I hope to inspire others with my story of perseverance and triumph. After many operations and trauma I hid my body. I entered this pageant to push out of my comfort zone and show the world that we are all beautiful.
I hope that my journey embodies the values of the UK Ms National Pageant: strength, compassion, and community. By participating in this pageant, I am taking another step in my mission to make a meaningful difference, showing that with courage and determination, we can overcome any challenge and create a better world for all.
Team GB World Transplant Sport Competitor
Every year I compete in the British/world transplant games competing in track & field. I won three golds in 2022/23 and I am hoping to achieve the same this year. I send my medals to my donors grandchildren.

I have been an ambassador for Tommys since 2018 raising awareness of baby loss and helping to have a voice in parliament.
