Remembering Robert Jenkinson

we announce the passing of Robert Jenkinson, a devoted father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, who left us on 3rd June 2024. Born in 1963,

Robert lived a life rich in passion, love, and dedication to both his family and his interests.

Robert was born in Manchester, where he grew up with a love for football. As a child, he could often be found kicking a ball around with friends, dreaming of playing for his favourite team, Manchester United.

His passion for the sport never waned, and he remained a loyal supporter throughout his life, frequently attending matches and cheering for his team with unwavering enthusiasm.

Beyond his love for football, Robert had a deep fascination with astronomy. From a young age, he would spend nights gazing at the stars, captivated by the mysteries of the universe. This passion led him to become an avid amateur astronomer, often sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with family and friends. His backyard was frequently the site of stargazing sessions, where he would point out constellations and share stories about the cosmos.

In his early twenties, Robert met the love of his life, Anne. They married in 1987 and built a warm and loving home together. Robert was a dedicated and loving father to their two children, Michael and Laura. He cherished his role as a father, always taking the time to support and encourage his children in their pursuits. His wisdom, humour, and kindness made him a role model and a beloved figure in their lives.

Robert’s joy only grew with the arrival of his grandchildren. He embraced his role as a grandfather with open arms, finding immense happiness in spending time with them. Whether he was teaching them about football or showing them the wonders of the night sky, Robert’s presence was a source of joy and inspiration for his grandchildren.

As an uncle, Robert was equally beloved. He had a special bond with his nieces and nephews, always ready with a joke, a story, or a helping hand. His generosity and warmth left a lasting impact on his extended family, who treasured the time they spent with him.

Robert’s professional life was marked by dedication and hard work. He worked in the engineering field, where his skills and attention to detail earned him the respect of his colleagues. Despite his busy career, he always made time for his family and his passions, embodying a perfect balance of work and personal life.

Robert’s legacy is one of love, passion, and kindness. He touched the lives of many with his generosity, his infectious enthusiasm for his interests, and his unwavering support for his loved ones. His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Robert Jenkinson is survived by his loving wife Anne, his children Michael and Laura, his grandchildren, and his extended family. As we say goodbye, we remember the joy he brought into our lives and the lessons he taught us about living with passion and love.

Rest in peace, dear Robert. Your love for football and the stars, and the warmth you shared with your family, will always be remembered.
